DEGEN THE SPICE BOY

By Luke Traynor on Apr 28, 08 12:13 PM in Player Profile

REMEMBER when Liverpool paraded around Wembley dressed in those ridiculous white suits before serving up that inept FA Cup final performance in 1996?
Sorry to remind you all.
I think we'd all agree that those days of a guffawing Ruddock in suit and shades trying to look like an Armani model are best left in the past.
However, it looks like that if our new Swiss signing has anything to do with it, the souped up glamour could worryingly be heading back to Anfield.

Firstly, take a glance of this - www.degendegen.com
A cause for concern, I'm sure you'll agree.
Did you click on the moving gallery of pics? How about that one laying back, legs splayed, crotch on display? Eh Rafa! Who's this we've signed ere, eh lid?!!
As I'm sure you've gathered, its a website for our new Swiss full back Philipp Degen and his twin brother David.
Philip's pictures are the most worrying, particularly that black vest top one, where he's throwing uncomfortable moody glances everywhere.
His brother David is a footballer aswell, playing for FC Basle at the moment, a right midfielder cum striker.

What is it about players that come to Liverpool? They all seem to think they're latest big thing to walk down a catwalk.
Why are the white boots a must now, instead of the traditional black ones? They must make the ball bend more or something.
Plus, maybe it if its a world star like Henry or Beckham it's a bit more understandable, but a European backwater full-back?
Other fantastic degendegen features include Degen wallpaper and some kind of chat facility to discuss Degen related matters with likeminded Degen fans.
Jesus Christ.
Fotos von Phillip. There seems to be a whole pot of gel on that spiky barnet and the face has been layered with smear after smear of moisturising balm.
If that's the way he looks on the pitch, particularly with those fancy boots, opponents will want to snap him in half.
I'm almost pining for a return to the good old days when Erik Meijer used to post cooking recipes on his fan site....'Here's how to make a tasty lasagne'..that kind of thing. I kid you not! It was there!

Anyway, judge for yourselves. For a good laugh visit www.degendegen.com (see what they've done there? There's two of them, so hence the double name in the url...)
Fotos von Phillip. I've seen it all now.

It's wax stick. Not Gel.

I'll be seeing you in court Luke.

(p.s. what are you wearing? Will a grey tie make my neck look fat? Phil)

Yeah, saw the Degen brothers in full Bros get up.

Thought it was Nick 'When Will I Be Famous' Peet when I saw the vest tops!

Swerve him Rafa.

Any man who worries more about his appearance is not right for our club.

Yours in sport
