A MEMORIAL to Liverpool legend Bob Paisely will be unveiled in his hometown this Saturday before the first Premiership game of the season.
The Paisley family, along with Hetton Town Council, will gather in the Reds manager's birthplace, near Sunderland.
A memorial in the form of a stone surround and engraved granite plaque has been erected in Hetton-le-Hole mini park.
Starting at 1pm, the unveiling has been scheduled so Liverpool fans have time to attend before going to the Stadium of Light for the Reds' away game.
A campaign spokesman said: "This is a lasting and fitting tribute to one of Hetton-le-Hole's greatest sons.
"Bob Paisley remains Liverpool Football Club's most successful manager, amassing a host of trophies during a remarkable managerial career spanning just nine seasons.
"He was also named Manager of the Year six times.
"In 52 years of loyal service at Anfield, Bob was a player, physiotherapist, coach, manager and director.
"His achievements will surely be unsurpassed in the game. In short, Bob Paisley is a world football great."
The Bob Paisley Memorial Appeal has raised £5,000 to erect a tribute and give Bob's elderly wife Jessie a book which details the story of how the memorial was erected.
