WHAT a game.
Tuesday's match against Arsenal will surely go down as one of the greatest in recent Premiership history.
But for Liverpool it was a damaging result.

You can be certain it's been a good night for Liverpool when much-maligned full back Andrea Dossena sprints 60 yards to get into the box, controls and fires into the net of the best keeper in the world with aplomb.

IT'S BEEN a while since a league home game at Anfield has been looked forward to with such little anticipation.
Defeat to Middlesborough, following on from the draw against Man City the week before, had knocked all the fight of every fan alike, it seemed.

LIVERPOOL fans are falling into two distinct camps so far this season.
Either you reckon we've played woefully in our first three Premiership games and two European matches and stumbled to seven league points and Champions League qualification.
Or you you believe we're joint top of the league and have negotiated a very tricky qualifier against capable Belgian opposition.
At 2.35pm on Saturday, we will get the first signs that one camp was better informed than the other.

ECHO AUTHORS

Luke Traynor Luke Traynor's first Reds recollection is staying up way past his bedtime as a six-year-old to watch Alan Kennedy caress the ball into the net against Roma to record a fourth European Cup. A decade and a half later, he reflects on the highs and lows of the current Anfield order.
